The Domino D80E is the latest addition to SIM2's Domino home Theater Projector Series. Based on the award-winning D80 model, this new "evolution" version builds on the outstanding performance of the impressive original.
The 'Evolution' enchancement of the D80E makes great use of sophisticated technology originally developed for use in SIM2's Grand Cinema Series models, namely unishape lamp Technology. When used in conjunction with BrilliantColour Colour enhancement, the millisecond-precision of the dynamic Unishape lamp system takes the performance of D80E to an altogether higher level. With a wider, more vivid colour palette on offer, along with improved contrast and increased light output.
The Full HD specification home theater projector utilizes Texas instruments 'DarkChip3' 0.95" 1080P DLP (1920 x 1080 pxiel resolution) chipset in its design, this is integrated into SIM2's patented ALPHAPATH light engine to deliver outstanding high Definition images on screen. The D80E also enables standard definition sources to be reproduced @ 1080P resolution, thanks to sophisticated 10-bit Video processing electronics.
The Domino D80E is compatible with all video standards (including 1080P/24fps) and offers a wide choice of both analog and digital source inputs, uncluding HDCP compliant HDMI, making eminently suitable for use with today's HD devices.

This projector is currently on display in Premiere Home Cinema’s show room and when compared against the ThemeScene HD80 the Infocus IN82, the SIM2 is worth the extra money due to the high standards in colours and detail in dark scenes.
The Infocus IN82 was a very close runner up being that it took 3 hours of debating as to which projector was better as these were very close however after watching various different scenes the SIM2 won.
The Themescene HD80 came 3rd for which only took a few seconds to decide as although the projector on its own is stunning, when compared side by side with the SIM2 and the Infocus the Themescene is too dark without detail.
Our conclusion is that the Themescene HD80 is extremely good, however if you can afford that little extra for the Infocus IN82 you will definitely get your extra monies worth and the SIM2 is slightly better than the Infocus however to most people it may not be worth the price difference.
