Main Features: HD Ready 16:9 720p resolution with HDMI, 1400 ANSI Lumens brightness, 4000:1 Contrast Ratio. See manual for full specifications.

My Impressions: This is my third home cinema projector. I bought it in November 2006 to take advantage of the High Definition capabilities of, initially, my XBox 360 and later my Playstation 3. I was amazed at the difference between standard definition and high definition when I turned the projector on. Even at 720p the sharpness and detail in the picture is outstanding. I am only selling this now because I have upgraded to the EMP-TW2000, which is Epson's currently best (and most expensive!) projector. I have had another Epson projector before this and I have never had any problems with any of them. Even if I had, the 3 year warranty offers excellent peace of mind and great value compared to most others companies standard 1 year warranty. I highly recommend anyone thinking about buying a projector look no further than an Epson model. Of course if you also want a bargain then please buy my projector!

Market Availability: This product has been discontinued by Epson and so as far as I'm aware it is no longer available to purchase new. However, I would say that the most similar model currently available is probably the EMP-TW680 which has a RRP of £799.

Condition: Purchased in November 2006 the projector is still in excellent condition. The projector came with a 3 year manufacturers warranty so the product will be supported by Epson UK until November 2009 should any faults develop. I am happy to report that I have not had any problems with the projector in the two years I have had it.

Lamp Life: I recently purchased and installed a new lamp (at a cost of around £200) in the projector so I would expect the lamp life to be in line with the specifications for a new projector given in the manual. The first lamp lasted almost two years and I have had the projector on for most of that time! The first lamp has not blown so could still be used (although there is a noticable difference in picture brightness between the new and old lamps) so I am happy to include the old lamp which will extend the lifetime of the projector a little further.
