Are you suffering from HD or HDMI 1.3 confusion?
Have no fear, Audioquest is here to help.

AudioQuest are pioneers in High Definition cable products for both Audio & Video. They have a team of award winning engineers led by a PhD in Physics, who fully understand the implications of modern HD signals, and importantly how to design and build the correct connections for the job.

Currently there is a lot of confusion about the new HDMI 1.3 standard - so what does it mean?
In short:

• Higher speed: max data rate doubled from 5 to 10 Gbps.
• Deeper colour: colour depth increased from 24 bit to 30, 36 or 48 bit, for smoother pictures.
• Wider colour space: the range is widened to all colours the human eye can typically see.
• Supports lossless audio formats: Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master and more.
• Lip sync: sync audio and video, compensates for signal processing delays.
• New mini plug: Type C for portable devices like camcorders, in addition to the current Type A and B.
• Importantly, all AudioQuest HDMI cables are HDMI 1.3 compliant.

WHY: Previous video standards (composite, S, component, RGB) transmit an analog signal. When two digital devices are connected with HDMI or DVI, the digital signal stays clearer and noise-free.
Both the DVI-D and the more recent HDMI transmission standards come from the same working group. Both systems transmit the same uncompressed digital video signal. The only two differences you must know: 1) the connectors are different. 2) HDMI inputs and outputs are capable of digital audio; DVI-D is video only.

HOW: AudioQuest/CinemaQuest HDMI-A uses large Conductive-Coated conductors. Solid High-Density Polyethylene is used to minimize loss caused by insulation, and to insure critical geometry stability. This HDMI-A cable has an HDMI connector on both ends. HDMI-A is also available also available with an HDMI connector on one end and a DVI-D connectors on the other end.

HDMI-A is available in a braided jacket in lengths of 1M, 2M and 3M. HDMI-A is available in an off-white PVC CL-3 rated jacket in various lengths from 4.5m to 12M.
